LENET Oh...no question, because the dynamics of force become that much greater. You know, I think the public really needs to understand that they will benefit as greatly from the walk and the stride of the walk, then they would from the force of the jogging. And overall, for their body, if they're not really familiar with or aware of exactly what is happening to the overall structure, whether it be the hips, the knees and the ankle area...which obviously are taking on the greatest amount of force and even to the extent of punishment with jogging, they won't necessarily get that type of response from walking. It'll be a little easier on the body overall.
NEMA If you feel you have a foot or leg problem that may arise in a walking program, check with your doctor or podiatrist...and Dr. Lenet says you should find a shoe designed for walking...one approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association. I'm Steve Girard at The Heart of the Matter.
