NEMA: Live Long, Die Fast...a book from Dr. John Bland of the University of Vermont...sounds harsh, but its a guide to getting all we can out of life as we age. Dr. Bland says our bodies are built to last a long time...and die quickly...
BLAND: The point being that were programmed to something around 120, and your, if you dont have one or more of the 6 diseases were dying of between 65 and 80, then youre not going to get those diseases.
NEMA: If we can avoid those diseases, our bodies run on our genes, and were much more likely to live to 100 or more...
BLAND: Two things Im totally, irrevocably certain of...and one is, I shall be dead someday...and two is, Im not dead now...and so I want, and want to teach people to do everything they can do to realize our maximum lifespan.
NEMA: Live Long, Die Fast offers solid advice on how to keep body and mind sharp for the really long haul. Im Steve Girard at The Heart of the Matter.
