The National Emergency Medicine
Association (NEMA) is a
not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1982. Committed to trauma prevention and
the delivery of quality emergency medical services at each stage of trauma, emphasis is on
first response at the time of emergency. Our mission statement is what drives all of NEMA's education programs in trauma prevention.
Our Mission
The Mission of the National Emergency Medicine Association (NEMA)
is to foster the development and delivery of quality emergency services that address
health and social issues through education and applied research. NEMA is concerned with
every stage of emergency, paying particular attention to the prevention of emergency and
to the excellence of response when emergencies occur.

- NEMA's Grants emphasize cardiac-related clinical and applied research, wellness
education programs and trauma support services. NEMA works with other non-profit
organizations through its special programs.

Numerous grants have provided essential funding to physicians, health clinics, trauma
centers and hospital centers like St. Agnes Hospital's Coronary Care Unit in Catonsville,
MD.
